CLINICAL MICRODERMABRASION FACIALS

A Standard spa facial is fantastic for our wellbeing, leaving us refreshed and relaxed and our skin cleansed and moisturised.  This might not be doing anything more than getting rid of the surface skin cells or aiding hydration.  Nevertheless the whole relaxing experience makes us feel good and refreshed. The aim of clinical facials is to address specific problems, improve skin health and prevent skin issues in the future.  Acne can be helped, thread veins and rosacea can
be improved, lines and wrinkles can be softened, scarring reduced, skin can be tightened and the whole aging process can be slowed!  Medical Grade equipment are often used such as IPL, Laser, LED, Needling and Microdermabrasion to name but a few.  You’ll also see medical grade products on the practitioner’s trolley rather than cosmetic products.  These clinical treatments will make a difference to your skins health, and over time, will show significant & sometimes dramatic differences!
Here are some facials that my clinic offers.

What is microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic procedure that uses fine crystals and a vacuum to exfoliate the skin and remove dead skin cells from the outer layer. Although microdermabrasion is most well known as a facial treatment, it can be used on most areas of your body such as your face, neck, chest, back and hands, if they require exfoliation. This safe procedure is designed to reduce fine lines, minor scars, wrinkles, sun damage and age spots to make your skin smoother and younger looking.

The treatment uses a stream of non-allergenic crystals (crystal microdermabrasion) to remove your skin’s outermost layers of dead cells. I will use a handheld device to direct the stream of crystal over the treatment area and, where necessary, target specific zones. The handset then uses a mild suction to draw away the crystal and skin debris to reveal your new and improved complexion.

Microdermabrasion removes the top layers of the skin called the stratum corneum. Similarly, to brushing your teeth, microdermabrasion helps to remove the debris from your skin. Human skin regenerates at 30 day intervals and regular microdermabrasion treatments performed every 7-10 days (which is what we recommend during a course of treatment) will ensure continued improvement for your skin concerns.

The SkinBase™ Facial is chemical free and non-invasive yet achieves amazing results revealing younger, healthier looking skin from the very first treatment. The skin’s appearance is further improved through increased collagen & elastin production as your body produces a new layer of skin.

No recovery time is required after having microdermabrasion and most people return to daily activity immediately following a session.

How Does Microdermabrasion Work?

The SkinBase™ Microdermabrasion Facial is a progressive rather than aggressive treatment, during which you’ll feel completely relaxed and pampered with no discomfort from the facial.

How does microdermabrasion work?

Over the course of your facial treatments a wand delivering a fine jet of abrasive crystals will be passed over the skin. Dead skin particles will be abraded away and a vacuum action will remove the debris.

This dual action will both resurface the skin and stimulate the blood flow, encouraging the skin to rejuvenate itself and produce collagen and elastin.

With each of your subsequent SkinBase™ treatments, the intensity of the facial microdermabrasion can be increased – reaching to deeper layers and successfully removing acne scarring, lifting pigmentation and smoothing fine lines and wrinkles.

What does microdermabrasion treat?

The SkinBase Facial™ targets a whole multitude of ‘skin sins’. Microdermabrasion treatments can be used for anything from stretch marksfine linesacne scarring and dull, tired skin to ageing skinuneven skin tone and pigmentation.

Microdermabrasion facial benefits

There are a huge number of benefits of microdermabrasion on your face.

As a non-surgical method of skin rejuvenation, microdermabrasion is quick, convenient, and painless, immediately restoring younger, smoother looking skin without the need for chemicals, lasers or injectables. The treatment exfoliates the skin to remove dead skin cells and leave your skin feeling and looking brighter and smoother.

One of the biggest benefits of microdermabrasion is that it’s a completely safe treatment, especially when performed by a trained professional. It’s not as harsh or risky as other treatments including chemical peels and laser treatment but still provides great results.

The huge number of benefits is what makes microdermabrasion such a popular treatment. Microdermabrasion works by removing the dead skin cells from your face which can provide a huge number of benefits, especially when you have microdermabrasion treatments on a regular basis.

The vacuum action during The SkinBase™ Facial works to stimulate the production of collagen, something we lose gradually as we age. This stimulation and skin’s renewal improves the condition of the skin’s surface – helping to target ageing skin, stretch marks, pigmentation, cellulite, dry and dehydrated skin and acne scarring.

Who is Microdermabrasion For?

For anti-ageing treatments, all skin types and tones from ages 28 and up will benefit the most from The SkinBase™ Facial. However, for problematic skin such as Acne Scarring all age groups can benefit. Under 16 year olds will need a parental co-sign however
