IPL Skin Treatments
Many different factors make our skin look older before its time. Excessive sun exposure without SPF, decreased production of collagen, hormone imbalance and with age the collagen in the skin that once was taut begins to weaken. The result, wrinkled, sagging and uneven blotchy skin. But now thanks to IPL (intense pulsed light) technology these photo-rejuvenation treatments can literally turn back time. The results, a more youthful and vibrant even complexion. Our IPL machine is designed to reduce age spots, fine lines and winkles, uneven pigmentation, reduce redness and help with acne. IPL targets the area of concern only focusing on that area so no surrounding skin is damaged. This is a very safe treatment.
Unfortunately, it can’t be used on darker skin tones, with a tan or fake tan.
Blemishes and Acne
IPL for Acne is also very effective at reducing the number and severity of spots. It can also reduce blackheads and oil production. During an IPL treatment, light of a specific frequency and colour is shone onto the skin, stimulating the production of new collagen. IPL Technology is a brilliant way to quickly and safely improve the texture of the skin which has been affected by acne.
Thread and Spider Veins
These veins can affect the face, body and legs and are extremely common but embarrassing. IPL is considered to be the best treatment for this not only do clients see great improvements n symptom but also in a reductions of flare ups. The IPL warming also produces more collagen to the area which will tighten and smooth the skin. Clients could see a drastic improvement in redness in as little as 4-6 treatments.
Sun Damaged Skin and Pigmentation
IPL uses wavelengths of heated light which are safe. The surrounding tissue is not damaged as only the pigmented spots are targeted. They will not disappear straight away but will fade over time after the treatment. 4-6 treatments maybe necessary but most clients can report a 70% or greater improvement over the course of their treatment.
IPL treatment is not suitable for the following clients:
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding. Sun tanned skin/use of sunbeds/fake tan. Melasma or Vitiligo. Active cancer. Diabetes. Epilepsy. History of Keloid scarring. Lupus. Psoriasis/Eczema. Herpes (shingles/cold sores). Semi-permanent/permanent fillers such as Radiesse and Sculptra. Photosensitive medications or supplements, including Photofrin, Forscan, Amiodarone, Minocycline, St John’s Wort, (a test patch may be required 4-weeks prior to treatment). Oral Retinoids (wait 6 months after completion of course). Steroids (Oral: wait 4 weeks after completion of course, Topical: 1 week)
